Salsa Dancing #Fail

Tonight we decided that we wanted to go salsa dancing! Apparently there is this place called Cuba-Cuba where there is a live Cuban band and you can go and salsa dance! So we told our mom and she asked us if we knew how to Salsa dance. None of us did so we asked her if she could show us how! It was so fun! We moved the table to the side and had a dance lesson in the dining room. We were all laughing and having so much fun! Our maid thought it was hilarious and she made a video of us on her phone. It's probably going to become a Youtube sensation in Mexico, she'll call it "Los Gringos que no Saben como bailar" or something haha.

Mama teaching us how to Salsa!

GNO... we're ready to Salsa!

So we were super excited to dance so we went to the bus stop and waited forever but no busses were coming... so we decided finally to walk to the other bus stop. We waited there forever too but no busses were coming either so we decided to just start walking. No one really knew where we were going and we kind of had a big group so everyone had different opinions on what to do so it was a little confusing and hard to make a decision. Finally after walking for like 45 minutes we decided that we were totally lost. And the busses stop here around 10 or 11ish so we were pretty bummed. Then all of a sudden out of no where a bus drives by us! So we flagged it down and lo and behold Aaron and Taylor were on the bus! There were the only ones on there and I have never been happier to see them! Taylor speaks perfect Spanish and was able to find out where we were going, so finally we made it to the street where Cuba-Cuba was!

We still couldn't find it though so we decided to ask a random guy in an OXXO store and he told us where it was... then we found out after that he followed us in his car to see if actually understood him. Apparently we didn't cuz then he got out and walked with us to Cuba-Cuba. Finally we made it and... it was closed! We found out that there is a law in Mexico that you are not allowed to drink alcohol three days before the election (which is on Sunday) because they want you to be sober when you vote. So all the dance clubs were closed because there's no point providing free music if you're not going to make any money off of alcohol. Pretty much it was the biggest bummer ever. It took us like two hours to get there and then it was closed! But then we ran into Becca and Jackie randomly and they were just going to Brooke and Marie's house so we met up with them and all went to hang out at Becca and Jackie's house. We played bananagrams and just chilled. By the way, bananagrams in Spanish is way hard!

It was quite an interesting night but I think now that I know all of the streets in north of Merida! haha
